Artist's impression of the star of Bethlehem seen as a supernova. It's been suggested by a few researchers that the Star of Bethlehem was a supernova in the Andromeda Galaxy, but this has to remain pure conjecture (at least purer than all the other Christmas star candidates) since it is almost impossible to support by any evidence.
