M20, The Trifid Nebula, in the constellation of Sagittarius, is a remarkable object - large, bright and beautiful. It is a complex of red emission, blue reflection, and dark nebulae about the size of the full moon. It was shot at 1,000mm of focal length with 130mm of aperture at f/8 (Astro-Physics 130EDT apochromatic refractor) with a Canon 20Da DSLR and only 12 x 6 minutes of exposure at ISO 1600.
