Galaxy M83 in Hydra

M83 (NGC 5236) is located in the southern constellation Hydra at 15 millions light years from the sun. It is classified as intermediate between normal and barred spiral galaxies. Composite image from four data sources (8.2 Meter Subaru Telescope, Hubble Space Telescope, 2.2-meter Max Planck-ESO telescope and 14.5" RC).
