Grappled by the remote manipulator system end effector of Discovery, the Hubble Space Telescope is held in appendage deploy position. The starboard solar array wing and the two high gain antennae are fully extended. An STS-31 crewmember took this view through aft flight deck window. The HST is backdropped against the Earth's limb.
