Sharpless 2-142 is a faint emission type nebula in Cepheus. It is part of the NGC 7380 complex consisting of the open cluster NGC 7380, the HII region Sh2-142 and a large molecular cloud NGC 7380E. This image is based on data acquired by the Oschin Telescope at the Mount Palomar Observatory.
