On the image (center-west of the country), one can see the very industrialized area around the Rhine Valley. The north-western coast faces the North Sea, while the north-eastern coast faces the Baltic sea, only seperated by a thin strip of land (about 50km); to the north, the border with Denmark. Its other neighbours are (clockwise): Poland, Czeck Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and The Netherlands. Satellite Envisat
