This spectacular mosaic of Chandra images reveals hundreds of white dwarf stars, neutron stars, and black holes bathed in an incandescent fog of multimillion degree gas. A supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, residing at the center of our Galaxy is located inside the bright white patch in the middle of the image. This image combines low energy X-rays (colored red), intermediate energy X-rays (green) and high energy X-rays (blue). Mosaic of 88 images.
