The Crab Nebula (M1) is a supernova remnant at about 7,000 light-year from Earth in the constellation Taurus. The star explosion occured on July 04 1054. At the center of this nebula lies a pulsar. This composite image uses data from three of NASA's Great Observatories. The Chandra X-ray image is shown in blue, the Hubble Space Telescope optical images are in red and yellow, and the Spitzer Space Telescope's infrared image is in purple.
