Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown, is a small but distinctive constellation in the northern sky, and was one of the 48 listed by Ptolemy that are still recognised today. In mythology it may have represented the crown given by Dionysus (or Bacchus) to Ariane, or belonged to Boötes.
