Triangulum is one of the 48 constellations noted by Ptolemy and is one of the smallest of the modern star groupings codified in the 1930s. However, the most obvious triangle in this image joins the surrounding trio of yellow-orange stars, Almak, Mirach and Hamal, in which Triangulum is nicely placed. Of course almost any three stars can form a triangle but these two, one inside the other, make quite a distinctive asterism.
