Montana during the late Cretaceous. Near the shores of the Western Interior Seaway, a Parasaurolophus walkeri bellows a call, while an Ichthyornis dispar stands on the foreground sand (and flies in from above) at a safe distance from the crocodilian Leidyosuchus canadensis. In the distance, the decaying carcass of a Brachylophosaurus canadensis has attracted a huge azhdarchid pterodaur.
