The beginning of 6 June 2012 Venus Transit against the disc is photographed from northern Norway when the sun was near the horizon over the waters of Norwegian Sea. At the imaging latitude of 69 degrees north the sun never set in June. The never-ending days of the season is highlighted by midnight sun which glides close to the northern horizon but always above it. The rare celestial phenomena happens only twice in each century and the 2012 transit was the last of our time. The next Venus Transit happens in the year 2117.
