Circumpolar photo with foreground the very impressive bronze statue of "Mother" which lies on the northwestern coast of Aegina island, Greece.
The four-meter sculpture was created by the well-known sculptor Christos Kapralos (1909-1993) and since 1995 sits across the road from where the museum housing hundreds of his works lies. Known as "The Statue of Mother", the statue overlooks the sea and symbolizes the Greek mother who awaits for the safe return of her (navy) son from abroad.
The attached result is based on 427 45-second multiple exposures (with
one-second intervals between exposures) representing an elapsed time of
just under 5.5 hours.
