Open cluster M7 in Scorpius

This cluster is roughly 780 light years from Earth. Its stars are about 220 million year-old. Star cluster Messier 7, also known as NGC 6475 is easily spotted by the naked eye in the direction of the tail of the constellation of Scorpius. Image taken from the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile.
