Gullies on the walls of a meteor impact crater in Newton Basin in Sirenum Terra, Mars. The gullies originate at a specific layer and may have formed by release of groundwater to the martian surface in geologically recent times. Image taken with the Mars Orbiter camera on Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft.
