2-12 June 1998. Valery V. Ryumin, mission specialist representing the Russian Space Agency (RSA), organizes a meal on the mid deck of Space Shuttle Discovery. Ryumin was headed toward a brief visit to RSA's Mir space station, joining five other Discovery crew members assigned to retrieve astronaut Andrew S.W. Thomas from the Mir. Since 1992, Ryumin has been the Director of the Russian portion of the Shuttle-Mir and NASA-Mir program.
