The Northern Milky Way from Cygnus to Cassiopeia.
This portion of the Milky Way, our own galaxy as seen from the inside, can be seen in the northern sky in the fall. Stretching from Deneb and the North American Nebula in Cygnus at the upper left, the Milky Way runs diagonally across the photo to the lower right. In the center of the photo are Cepheus and Cassiopeia. Andromeda and Galaxy M31 are at upper right.
Numerous red emission nebula, dark nebulae and rich open star clusters dot the Milky Way.
