In this view of the entire Hawaiian Island Archipelago, the islands perturb the prevailing northeastewrly winds producing extensive cloud wakes in the lee of the islands. The atmospheric haze within the wake is a result of the near continuous eruptions of Kilauea volcano on the  southeast coast of the big island of Hawaii. October 3 1988.
