Two giant Moschops face off on a sandstone mesa 250 million years ago in what is today the Karoo region of South Africa. Moschops was not a dinosaur, rather it was a mammal-like reptile that, like Dimetrodon, was more closely related to mammals than to true reptiles such as lizards. Moschops was a heavily-built, 4-legged herbivore that grew up to 16 feet long.
