An amateur astronomer observes the planetary alignment over a lake near Chatsworth, N.J. on Tuesday April 23, 2002. All five of the bright naked-eye planets were visible in the western sky after sunset in April and May of this year. The planets visible are, from top left to lower right,  Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. The Earth is visible in the foreground, making it 6 planets visible.
